Important Information About Investment Returns

Members, please note: Only SASS and Deferred SASS members have investment choice available to them - and only to certain components of their benefits.

Most benefits paid from SSS and PSS are taken as a defined benefit and are not affected by declared rates.

The Balanced, Conservative Growth and Cash investment strategies were introduced from December 2003. The Growth strategy is the investment strategy used by the Pooled Fund.

The above investment performance tables provide information about how the Pooled Fund investment strategies have performed over time. Past investment performance is no indication or guarantee as to future investment performance. Superannuation decisions should not be based on short-term fluctuations. Your investment choice should reflect how comfortable you feel with the possibility of investment values and returns fluctuating, how long your investment horizon is. You should also take account of where you have invested your non-superannuation savings. You may need financial planning advice before making a decision about your superannuation.
