Resignation, dismissal or deferred benefit
If you resign or are dismissed, you can choose to take a withdrawal benefit or to defer your benefit.

Not hurt on duty (NHOD) medical discharge
In order to qualify for a NHOD medical discharge, you must meet certain conditions.

Not hurt on duty (NHOD) death benefit
On the death in service of a member that is Not Hurt on Duty (NHOD), a gratuity is payable to the deceased member’s spouse or partner.

Hurt on duty
PSS provides an invalidity benefit if you must retire because of an injury sustained while on duty.
