Scheme mobility

Mobility applies to employees of local government or energy industry entities who were members of SASS prior to 1 July 1997 and have subsequently transferred to either the Local Government Superannuation Scheme (LGSS) or the Energy Industries Superannuation Scheme (EISS). These employees can transfer their accrued benefits and contributory entitlements to an equivalent membership in SASS if they commence employment in the NSW public service within three months. However, you cannot complete this transfer unless you apply in writing within three months of being transferred.

Note: Members of SASS who have transferred to a local government or energy industry employer since 3 May 2002 cannot remain in SASS and must transfer their accrued benefit to either LGSS or EISS.
