In the 2014-15 Budget, the Commonwealth Government stated that it will resume making payments under the Higher Education Superannuation Programme to eligible universities, subject to agreement with the NSW Government, to meet the Commonwealth's share of university superannuation benefits. The resumption of payments for staff who are members of the State Superannuation Scheme, the State Authorities Superannuation Scheme and the State Authorities Non Contributory Superannuation Scheme, will align the arrangements for NSW with other participating states.
