The benefits you ultimately receive from your scheme depends on many factors. This page contains important information to help you consider all the issues which may impact how much you receive, and whether you can access your benefits before retirement age.

SANCS and Basic benefit
Most members of SASS are also members of SANCS. Find out about the Basic Benefit and AEC and how much they're worth to you.
Retirement benefits
Members of SASS are generally eligible for a retirement benefit on leaving employment from age 58. Find out how to calculate what your retirement benefit is worth.

Taxation
Benefits paid before age 60 are subject to Commonwealth benefits or income tax but if paid after 60, they are tax-free and not assessable for income tax purposes.
