Universities in NSW have many current and former employees who are longstanding members of the State Super schemes. The Trustee is aware that some members have been concerned that the universities need to make additional employer contributions to cover their State Super liabilities.

The SAS Trustee Corporation (STC) is the trustee of the State Super defined benefit superannuation schemes. These schemes include the State Superannuation Scheme (SSS), the State Authorities Superannuation Scheme (SASS) and the State Authorities Non-Contributory Superannuation Scheme (SANCS).
Important notice: SASS Additional Benefit Cover for Police Officers

Police Officers with SASS Additional Benefit Cover (ABC) should be advised that due to amendments to the State Authorities Superannuation Scheme (SASS) legislation, members have the option to opt out of the Additional Benefit Cover and enter through the First State Super (FSS) Police Blue Ribbon Insurance (PBRI) arrangement for Total and Permanent Disablement and Death cover.
